고등학교 상담교사가 된 데이비드는 알콜중독에 약에 절은 전직 아역 스타이다.
그를 위로하는 건 자신이 스타였던 시절의 비디오를 보는 것과 술을 마시는 것뿐이다.
주위로부터 버림받고 궁지에 몰린 데이비드는 자신의 연기력을 발휘하여 고등학교 상담교사가 된다.
학생들에게 터무니없는 충고를 해주지만 의외로 좋은 결과들을 얻게 되는 데이비드.
